(--CLange) Attendees: TillMossakowski (chair), ChristophLange, ElisaKendall, FabianNeuhaus, MichaelGruninger, OliverKutz, PeterYim (scribe), TerryLongstreth. == Proceedings: == [7:04] PeterYim: == TillMossakowski starts the meeting [7:05] PeterYim: Till: we will focus on review and feedback of Fabian's slides which he will present at the OMG meeting next week [7:06] OliverKutz: where is the slides? [7:09] PeterYim: slides from Fabian now also available as: http://ontolog.cim3.net/file/work/OntoIOp/Team_confcall/2013-12-04_team-confcall_n.48/2013-12-11-OMG-slides_FN_a.pdf [7:07] TerryLongstreth: Slide 7 - Does -> Do [7:08] PeterYim: ^^ ERRATA: shared-file workspace: http://ontolog.cim3.net/file/work/OntoIOp/Team_confcall/2013-12-04_team-confcall_n.48/ [7:08] TerryLongstreth: Slide 8 - + of [7:10] anonymous morphed into ElisaKendall [7:10] TerryLongstreth: Slide 6 - Does -> Do [7:11] List of members: ElisaKendall, FabianNeuhaus, MichaelGruninger, OliverKutz, PeterYim, TerryLongstreth, TillMossakowski [7:13] PeterYim: @Fabian - footer of all slides "OntoIOp ... " (you have "OntoIOP" now - note capitalization of last character) [7:16] PeterYim: @Fabian - slide#8.2: again "OntoIOp" (instead of "OntoIOP") [7:39] PeterYim: @Fabian - "OntoIOp" (instead of "OntoIOP") on slide#2 also (maybe a case-sensitive spell check could discover more) [7:15] ChristophLange: Slide 5: Babylonian with a Y [7:15] TillMossakowski: @Fabian: p.8: into a larger ontology [7:17] TillMossakowski: @Fabian: p.5 instead of a hammer, you might refer to a swiss army knife - somewhat universal, but still quite limited [7:19] TerryLongstreth: Slide 11 - possible to use OntoIOp to pinpoint interoperability conflicts? [7:20] TillMossakowski: @Terry: sure, you could for example discover that the OWL version of DOLCE is inconsistent with the FOL version [7:21] TerryLongstreth: Slide 12 - expAndable [7:22] PeterYim: "extensible"? [7:27] TerryLongstreth: @Peter - in any case, not 'expendable' [7:22] TillMossakowski: p.12: should we really use the notion "logical theory" so prominently here? Maybe better start with OSM, and then say that they are also logical theories. [7:33] PeterYim: Elisa: possibly include a slide with a summary of all the mandatory requirements [7:35] TillMossakowski: Elisa: the LOI deadline might need to be shifted to May, since OMG members need some time to discuss LOIs internally [7:35] TillMossakowski: Tara: the role of repositories vs. registry needs to be clarified [7:37] TillMossakowski: perhaps we should move the paragraph about the registry into the non-mandatory features or even the discussion section?+ [7:38] TerryLongstreth: Slide 11 is labeled 'Goals and requirements' but only shows goals [7:38] TillMossakowski: Elisa: in 6.3.1, say more explicitly how submitters should rely on the OMG standards. It is only there for ODM. [7:41] TillMossakowski: Elisa: use the ad/2013-11-11 OMG document for a revised version that also considers Elisa's and Tara's feedback (a clean version, with no comments and changes) [7:42] TerryLongstreth: Overall - this is a terrific presentation! [7:42] TillMossakowski: Elisa: we could do one more round until Friday with Elisa, and send the document to Juergen at the weekend [7:44] TillMossakowski: by the way: the University of Magdeburg is now an OMG member [7:48] ChristophLange: @TillMossakowski: re registry: politically it might make sense, if a smaller RFP is easier to pass through, but from a technical perspective I tend to disagree (of course I'm biased). Having the registry is the way how OntoIOp's extensibility by arbitrary languages and logics is realized in a technical way. [7:50] TillMossakowski: but it is clear that we want to have the registry, whether it is or not part of the mandatory requirements. And we should not risk issuance of the RFP... [7:51] TillMossakowski: Elisa: not all OMG people will understand the importance of a model-theoretic semantics, so this needs to be explained within a couple of sentences [7:52] TillMossakowski: Elisa: if you are not very clear about what you want in the RFP, you will get all kinds of things in the submissions [7:53] TillMossakowski: Elisa: at OMG, people think they know what a model-theoretic semantics is, but only few understand it really [7:55] ChristophLange: @TillMossakowski: Thanks for clarifying; with this I'm happy to accept a non-mandatory registry. But if you move it, I'd be interested in proof-reading once more, just to make sure that some of the "spirit" of the registry (Web-scalability, unique identifiers, self-describing logics) remains mandatory. [7:59] TillMossakowski: Elisa: DTV should become a bullet in 6.3.1+ [8:01] TillMossakowski: Elisa: RFP needs polishing at various places. E.g. towards the end of the first use case, there is a long list of bullets. [8:02] ChristophLange: @TillMossakowski: In case there is anything about the registry that would make sense discussing I would be available after this call for a few minutes. [8:04] TillMossakowski: LOI deadline should be May 19, 2014 [8:05] TillMossakowski: We need at least one platform member submitting the spec [8:12] PeterYim: Till: next meeting (n.49) - Wed 2013.12.18 - (same time) 7:00am PST / 10:00 am EST / 4:00pm CET / 5:00pm SAST / 0:00am [+1] KST / 15:00 GMT/UTC [8:15] TerryLongstreth: Bye all [8:15] PeterYim: -- session ended: 5:15pm CET -- ------
